CHETTIYA PATHU
Chettiya pathu :
(kutti story about my place and me .. :D) pls bear it..
Chettiya pathu is a place that situated near udangudi municipality. udangudi to chettiya pathu covers an distance of 1.2 kms.5kms away from manapad,15km away from tiruchendur. This is my place were i born and started to grow up.
"chettiyapathu" in order to change those ancient old name i personally call it as "CITY a 10" ..(just for fun.).chettiya pathu ! chettiyapathu!! chettiyapathu!!!. I LOVE MY PLACE.
here we 've 3 major temples.
1.Pillaiyar kovil
2.Sivan kovil
3.Iyanthu veetu swami kovil
Here we 've major festival season during the month of january and april ( i guess...). during those festival,people around tamilnadu used to come here and get blessed from" IYANTHU VEETU SWAMI"
we our people in CHETTIYA PATHU 've one common amman temple festival (we call it as KODAAII, THIRUVIZHA..) our village old people told me some BIG APPATAKER STORIES OF OUR HISTORY..:P
will share some of them . yes here we gooo!!
The people in chettiyapathu were migrated from the place "MURINGA VIZHAI" that is in kerala border. The 3 people of same family were came out from their native and migrated to a small piece of land. Over the period of years the people cultivated the land and develped their places as well as their generation too. Finally the family enlarged into 30 big family hence we call it as "30 PANGALIS",and they named place as CHETTIYAPATHU. Now it is an CHETTIYA PATHU panchayat... ya ofcourse we were the children of those 30 pangalisss...:P
this was the story told by old granes of our place..(like paatti vada sutta kathaii)..
